Leading Edge Automotive is a Canterbury owned & operated company who pride ourselves on our customer service and quality workmanship. We service all makes and models but specialised in the servicing and repair of BMW, Audi, VW, Volvo, Porsche & Mercedes vehicles.

We are a busy, clean, modern workshop with a small friendly team. We carry out the diagnosing of faults, general servicing, repair & maintenance, electrical repairs, wheel alignments and more.

Top remuneration is offered based on experience and ability. The hours are 8 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday but are negotiable.

Automotive Technician

While we specialise in the repair and maintenance of European vehicles, our team recognise that it's also more than just cars – it's about the people who drive them, so we place an emphasis on great customer service and quality workmanship.  

As an Automotive Technician at Leading Edge Automotive, you will utilize your expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles. From routine oil changes to complex engine repairs, your attention to detail and problem-solving skills will be essential in ensuring the optimal performance and safety of our customers’ vehicles.  

Work Hours and Benefits: 

This is a full-time position with regular hours, Monday through Friday, the hours are 8.00am - 5.00pm, but this is negotiable. We offer you a comprehensive benefits package, including the following:

Responsibilities 

  • Perform diagnostics and repairs on various automotive systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, and electrical systems 

  • Conduct routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tyre rotations, and fluid checks 

  • Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to accurately identify and resolve vehicle issues 

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure a safe and efficient working environment 

  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure timely completion of repairs and meet customer expectations 

  • Follow safety protocols and guidelines to minimize risks and ensure compliance with industry regulations 

Requirements 

  • Qualified Automotive Technician 

  • Has 5 years or more experience 

  • Has experience with European vehicles 

  • Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills 

  • Knowledge of automotive systems and their components 

  • Strong attention to detail 

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously 

  • Excellent communication 

  • Valid NZ driver's license and a clean driving record
